The finalists of the prestigious European Innovation in Politics Awards 2023 have been announced today, including the National Education Agency’s project “Digital Transformation of Education (EdTech)”, which has made it to the top of the education category..

According to the organisers, 337 projects from 26 countries have qualified for this year’s final round of the awards. The nominees were judged by a jury of 1,045 people from different European countries. Lithuania’s project “Digital Transformation of Education (“EdTech”)” is in the category “Education: Learning, Teaching, Empowerment”.

This is an extraordinary recognition of the work and the country as a whole on the international stage. I think this attention will motivate us to be even more persistent in achieving digital breakthroughs and to set Lithuanian education as an aspirational model for all,” says Indrė Šuolienė, Head of the EdTech Centre.

The project aims to stimulate a breakthrough in educational technology in the education system. The EdTech Centre of the National Education Agency introduces educational institutions to the most innovative educational tools, invites them to try out new, attractive digital learning solutions in schools and to use state-of-the-art equipment.

The Centre also initiates cooperation with EdTech start-ups and IT companies, and takes care of the development of teachers’ digital skills by organising courses and internships for teachers abroad, funding IT studies, and various other activities.

The final round of the awards will take place in Warsaw, Poland, in May this year.
